Steve Walton
Assistant Golf Professional - Olympic View Golf Club
PGA of Canada Professional
Tel 250.474.3673 | [email protected]

Steve grew up in Kaslo, a small town of just 1,000 people in British Columbia’s West Kootenays. Sports have always played a major role in his life, with hockey and golf leading the way. At just seven years old, Steve was introduced to the game of golf by his father on the local nine-hole course. Summers were spent immersed in the game, often playing anywhere from 18 to 36 holes a day, until his family relocated to the Lower Mainland when he was 14.

While golf remained a lifelong passion, Steve spent the next 24 years building a successful career in the restaurant industry as a chef. In April of 2025, he made the decision to pursue his true passion and transition into the golf industry. That summer, Steve dedicated himself to learning the ins and outs of the profession while sharpening his own game in preparation for the Player Ability Test (PAT).

His hard work paid off when he passed the PAT on his first attempt in September 2025, earning his position as an Assistant Professional later that month. Steve is enthusiastic about continuing to grow within the industry and is especially excited to help teach and inspire the next generation of golfers at Olympic View.
